Diceware Passphrase Generator
Modern cybersecurity standards, including the latest NIST guidelines, heavily emphasize password length over password complexity. Creating a password packed with random symbols is difficult to type on mobile devices and nearly impossible to remember. Enter the Diceware Passphrase.
What is a Diceware Passphrase?
A Diceware passphrase is a sequence of normal dictionary words chosen at absolute random. For example, a string like correct-horse-battery-staple contains massive entropy because the pool of possible word combinations is astronomically large. It provides world-class security against brute-force attacks while remaining incredibly easy for a human to visualize, memorize, and type.
Client-Side Cryptography
Our Passphrase tool selects random words from an extensive EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation) wordlist. Instead of relying on a weak pseudo-random number generator, Password Dog uses the browser's native Web Crypto API (window.crypto.getRandomValues) to ensure the word selection is cryptographically secure. Best of all, generation happens locally—your new passphrase is never transmitted over the internet.
